The Ghana government has disclosed that it is in the process of introducing an e visa for visitors to the country by the end of the third quarter of 2021. The Ghana e visa will help tourists who want to visit the country do so with ease by acquiring an e visa which will eliminate the hustle that some people go through in obtaining a visa. The procurement process has started for the selection of a private technology firm that will partner with the Ghana Immigration Service to issue the e visa. This move has been welcomed by many tourism industry players who deemed the move as a major step towards making Ghana a tourism hub in sub-Saharan Africa. E visas have been a major game-changer for many countries such as Kenya, Bhutan United Arab Emirates, and lots more who have seen a significant increase in the number of tourists visiting their country when the e visa was enrolled. This comes at the back of the Year Of Return who tourists were issued with visas on arrival at the Kotoka International Airport in December 2019 and January 2020.
